Full Description:
As a Branch Manager you will develop, motivate and lead the team to deliver excellent customer service in a busy high street branch. You will ensure targets are met and exceeded and work with the team to maximise sales and contribute to the achievement of the overall business plan. You will build effective capability in the team to ensure targets are achieved whilst continually maintaining all quality, regulatory and procedural standards.
Key Skills:
•Lead, develop, coach and motivate employees to ensure they are aware of and capable of delivering their responsibilities and to ensure the creation and maintenance of an effective working climate and a continuous improvement ethos.
•Plan, organise, control and monitor the activities of the team to optimise resources and oversee their work so that the team maximises its performance against all relevant targets and standards.
•Continually review and measure team activities against sales and other targets, standards and service levels, agreeing and taking actions to improve capability and performance, so that the team achieves its maximum potential.
•Develop team understanding of business plans, and current performance, to enable them to contribute to the performance and continuous improvement of the business.
•Participate fully in recruitment activities, including making decisions on individuals, to ensure the team possesses sufficient staff of the required capability to deliver its responsibilities.
•Carry out all required team management and administrative activities, including performance management processes and action on individual performance issues, to ensure the smooth functioning of the team.
•Participate as required in the development, maintenance of procedures, systems and processes to support the effective delivery of operational activities, and manage the effective implementation of any changes and developments into the work of the team.
•Resolve customer queries and issues escalated from staff, further escalating significant problems as appropriate and identifying and highlighting trends/emerging issues to enable their early resolution.
•Participate in projects in assigned areas, ensuring responsibilities as part of the project team are delivered to plan.
•Assist and support business planning activities in assigned areas.
Essential Skills and Knowledge Required:
•Demonstrated capability of managing a team
•As appropriate, knowledge of specialist activities
•Good understanding of business operations, particularly in areas of activity.
•Broad understanding of company policies and standards.
•Knowledge of customers and competitors
•May be working towards relevant professional qualifications
•Relevant commercial and financial understanding
•Understanding of business objectives and key result areas
•Communicates verbally and in writing in a style appropriate to the audience
•Able to develop and maintain effective business relationships
•Demonstrates organisational/co-ordination capability
•Understanding of performance management processes
•Report writing skills
•Experience in dealing with multiple issues, tasks and priorities concurrently
•Good knowledge of relevant processes and procedures
•Good understanding of relevant regulations impacting the work of the team
•Able to interpret data accurately and identify trends
•Able to implement change initiatives
