Job Description

Director of Risk, Audit and Compliance London, South East Up to £70,000-£98,000 (dependant upon experience) plus excellent benefits Our client is one of the UK\'s largest housing association groups in the country, providing housing to over 120,000 people An opportunity has now arisen for a Director of Risk, Audit and Compliance to be responsible to take the lead in the internal audit process and ensure Group compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements and standards. Support the business with the implementation and maintenance of an effective risk appraisal and management system and proactively challenge key stakeholders to monitor all risks. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Group Chief Executive and will ideally have come from a housing background or someone from a regulatory industry ie banking or finance and will take the lead in the internal audit process, group compliance, regulatory & statutory requirements and standards Responsibilities include: * The primary function of the Director of Risk, Audit & Compliance is to ensure the organisation achieve their corporate objectives * To effectively manage the Group\'s relationship with the TSA and Audit Commission including acting as the central coordinator for short notice inspections of the Group. * Act as a high-level conduit between senior management and the internal audit contractor to shape a risk-based internal audit programme as well as influencing and challenging to ensure its delivery. * To deliver a framework of complementary internal controls, reflecting the strategic risk profile of the organisation. * The ongoing collection and collation of data across all areas of the business in order to demonstrate regulatory compliance; and keeping abreast of current regulatory approach to Housing Associations. * Provide leadership and management of the Risk and Audit team The successful candidate must have the following essential skills and experience: * Experience in a similar role as a Director of Risk, Audit and Compliance or Chief Executive from ideally a housing background * Risk Management experience * Proven man management experience * The successful candidate will have strong influencing skills and will champion the development of the compliance culture throughout the business.
