Job Description

A rare opportunity for a Software Test Engineer who has a Mechanical Engineering degree to work for a Software House testing their product which is sold into Mechanical Engineering Companies. Job title - Applications Engineer Location - Cambridge Salary - £25k - £40k + benefits. Essential Requirements: * Bachelor\'s, Master\'s or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) * Experience of using a modern mechanical CAD system * Experience of software testing * Knowledge of software testing methodologies * Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written * Programming/Scripting knowledge on Windows and Unix (Shell, Perl) - desirable but not essential * Ability to learn new areas and to continually improve * Good analytical and problem solving skills * Able to work well in a team This role would ideally suit someone who has completed a degree (and maybe gained some commercial working experience) in mechanical engineering and has fallen into software test engineering throughout the course of their career.
