Full Description:
• What’s involved:
I. To work alongside youth workers as the technically competent person in charge of adventurous activity sessions
II. To deliver sessions at the Urban Adventure Base, any of its satellite operations around the borough, on day trips and residentials throughout the year.
III. To be actively involved in the planning of sessions to ensure they are progressive, developmental, inspiring and deliver high quality outcomes.
IV. To actively encourage young people to get involved in the activities and enthuse them to maximise achievement.
V. To assist with the maintenance, cleaning, storage and general upkeep of activity equipment to ensure that it is fit for purpose and ready to use.
VI. To help with activity related admin including risk assessments, accident reports, user records, maintenance records etc.

- Good understanding of the principles of personal and social development through outdoor education.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and residentials as required.
- Minimum of 1 relevant NGB adventure activity leadership qualification. Experience of at least 2 other activities.
- Experience of leading/coaching a diverse range of young people in adventure activities - e.g. Duke of Edinburgh's Award, biking, climbing, canoeing etc. [not football coaches, please]
- Experience of working with young people in a range of outdoor environments
- Good understanding of informal education in relation to adventurous activities.
- Enhanced CRB check in place
